The primary purpose of the Testing Platform for wire rope electric hoists is to simulate the load conditions encountered in actual operation, in order to verify their performance and safety reliability. Its importance is reflected in:
Safety Inspection: Ensures the electric hoist can safely lift and transport its rated load, preventing accidents such as heavy load drops caused by equipment defects.
Performance Testing: Checks whether the hoist's mechanisms—lifting, lowering, and traveling (if applicable)—operate correctly under load, assessing factors like motor current, brake performance, noise, and vibration.
Regulatory Compliance: According to national regulations (such as China's "Safety Regulations for Lifting Appliances") and industry standards, load testing is mandatory for newly installed, overhauled, or periodically (e.g., annually) inspected electric hoists.
Quality Assurance: For manufacturers, it is an essential step in the quality control process before the product leaves the factory.
Test Types:
1. Static Load Test
Purpose: To verify the hoist's load-bearing capacity and resistance to deformation (strength, rigidity).
Load: Typically 1.25 times the rated load.
Method: The test load is lifted 100-200 mm from the ground and held suspended for over 10 minutes. Subsequently, key load-bearing components (such as the hook, drum, housing, and wire rope) are inspected for permanent deformation, cracks, or paint peeling. The reliability of the brake is also checked.
2. Dynamic Load Test
Purpose: To validate the comprehensive operational performance of all the hoist's mechanisms (hoisting, traveling) under load.
Load: Typically 1.1 times the rated load.
Method: Under the test load, multiple repeated lifting and lowering operations are performed, along with testing the traversing trolley (if applicable). Checks are made to ensure all mechanisms operate flexibly and smoothly, the brake is responsive and reliable, limit devices are effective, and that there are no abnormalities in the motor and electrical systems.
